On April 22, 2017, hundreds of students from Northwestern, Rock Hill and South Pointe High Schools will get to experience their first junior/senior prom. You remember how it was – the fancy dresses, tuxedos, limos and a night out of dancing with friends. It was the one night you probably got to go out past curfew. Prom makes for some great memories. You hear that song on the radio and “poof!” you’re right back to your prom night. Some people would love the opportunity to relive their prom again. Well, Westminster Towers’ residents in Rock Hill, SC got to do just that. On April 1, 2017, residents from Independent Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing attended the 3rd Annual Westminster Towers’ Senior Prom, “King Arthur’s Court.”
It was all made possible by the Fort Mill High School Interact Club who hosted the event. They spent a lot of time and energy planning the big event and making the beautiful decorations. There was everything you can think of at a typical prom – dancing, live entertainment, a photo booth and food! Everyone came together on the dance floor, from high school senior to those 50 years their senior.
So senior proms are not just for those seniors in high school. Seniors of a different generation are getting to enjoy their prom days all over again! It’s great reminiscing over the past, but you certainly can’t beat making memories in the present. Happy prom everyone!
