Westminster Presbyterian Center, Inc. was established for the purpose of operating a non-profit, church-sponsored, Christian retirement and health care center for Westminster Presbyterian Church of Rock Hill, South Carolina and the larger community. What began as a vision in the early 1970s became reality in June 1989 as the Towers opened its doors for its first residents; those who may have retired from work but not from life.

In 1997, Westminster Towers became the first retirement campus in South Carolina to be accredited by the national Continuing Care Accreditation Commission, and remains one of the approximately 14 percent nationally that are accredited today.

In July, 2001, construction of a replacement for the skilled nursing/rehabilitation center was completed to include 22 additional beds. This project received national design awards and remains a beautiful addition to our campus of services.

Today, our community offers 131 Independent Living apartment homes, 29 Assisted Living suites, 22 Medicare Certified Short Term Rehabilitation rooms and 44 Long Term Care rooms.

Our Campus Home Health Program was implemented to assist residents with support of clinical services while remaining in independent apartments at the Towers.


Jim Thomason

Chief Executive Officer

Jim is a native of Jackson, Tennessee. He has been a licensed long term care administrator since 1983 and is dually licensed in South Carolina for Nursing Home and Community Resident Care. In addition, he is nationally qualified as a Health Services Executive (HSE) through the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards in Washington, DC, and is a Registered Housing Manager (RHM) through the National Center for Housing Management. He has served since 1983 in the roles of a licensed administrator, regional director, and CEO of retirement communities and currently maintains active or officially inactive licenses in six states.

Jim holds degrees from Union University (BA), Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M. Div.), Webster University (MA-Health Services Management) and completed two academic years of Clinical Pastoral Education (5 Units) at Geisinger Medical Center.

Throughout his career he has been active in professional organizations and served on committees and boards on the state level and national level with Leading Age, American Health Care Association and the American Medical Directors Association .

Jim reports to the Board of Directors and oversees the Corporation and its Mission. The Towers has a well-established and active Resident Association consisting of nine Standing Committees, in which, Jim serves as an ex-officio along with four elected Resident Officers on the Executive Committee.

Jim has one son, Richard, who is a Commercial Real Estate Jim is one of five children, and enjoys keeping up with his extended family, which includes his daily conversation with his Mother, who still lives in his hometown of Tennessee.

Kevin Johnson

Chief Financial Officer

Kevin M. Johnson oversees all financial dealings of Westminster Presbyterian Center, Inc. Johnson’s vast experience includes serving as CFO with several companies such as, SearStone Retirement Community, Carillon Assisted Living, Southern Lumber Inc., and Bartley RF Systems. Within the senior housing industry, he has experience with multi-site senior care facilities and securing financing for long-term-care projects.

Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York. He has also been involved with the Financial Executives Networking Group since 2006.

Jennifer Tucker


Jennifer Tucker has been at Westminster Towers for over five years and currently serves the residents as the Administrator of the Health Center. She has also previously served in other various roles, including Campus Social Worker and Director of Life Enrichment. A Rock Hill native, she attended college at Auburn University in Alabama, where she graduated from in 2014 with a degree in Social Work. She received her Social Work License in 2015. Jennifer loves spending time with the residents and listening to their stories of the past! As a newlywed, she enjoys working on projects with her husband, spending time with her four-legged babies – two dogs and a cat, and spending time outdoors in warm weather.
