Westminster Towers welcomed our newest Independent Living residents at a gathering on May 10th. It was a lovely affair complete with a menu of scrumptious goodies. Residents feasted on large fruit and cheese plates with assorted crackers, fried mushrooms with marinara, pineapple cream cheese finger sandwiches, loaded potato skins and assorted nuts provided by our own Excecutive Chef, Rick Schmitt. Twenty-four new residents were introduced and a few words were shared about what brought them to the Towers. Many were born and raised in the Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Chester and Lake Wylie areas. We also learned there were several from other states which included: Virginia, Kentucky, New York, Pennsylvania and Georgia. Westminster Towers is so happy that these fine folks have joined a wonderful Community of Friends. They are so excited to participate in all of the programs that the community has of offer. A trip to Asheville to visit the Biltmore Home was on the agenda for many of the newcomers. Several stated they could not wait to take a dip into the heated pool or participate in all of the wellness classes offered on campus. One person was really excited to get pampered with her massage and appointment at the beauty shop. She remarked “it’s so nice to have everything under one roof, especially with the summer heat that will soon be upon us.”
